When people comment on my perfect, beachy waves, I simply explain that they’re natural. And that’s the truth — sort of. It’s as if God played a little trick on me and gave me the fabulous, loose curls in the back and straight hair in the front. Well, I have a little trick of my own to remedy that and it’s called the So Cal Curls Hair Curling Tie (they remind me of the old fashioned rag curls my grandmother used to put in my hair to enhance my spirals). Using the tie takes a little practice but it’s worth the effort considering it won’t fry your hair like some irons can and no harsh chemicals are used — a major bonus. All you have to do is heat it up in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds, tie it around your head and wrap strands of hair around the tie, then wait for 30 minutes. By the time I finish my makeup, it’s ready to come off. Then I simply tousle my hair and give it a spritz of holding spray. I guess my secret is out!
